Washing your brushes is very important as they gain a build up of grime, muck, germs and bacteria and no one wants thats creeping into the pores of your skin leading to unwanted break outs. Cleaning your brushes after each makeup application is the best way to go using a pro brush cleaner. These cleaners can just be sprayed onto the brush and gently massaged with a dry cloth or paper towel until all the colour comes out. Otherwise it's vital to clean your brushes at least once a month with a shampoo or like I use a sensitive skin wash like baby wash (moo goo).
Step 1
Give your brushes a rinse under warm water gently massaging the bristles. Be careful not to emerge the whole brush under the water or run up into the bristles as this can lead to the glue becoming loose and your bristles falling out. Do this until the water runs clear.
Step 2
In a jar or bowl add a few squirts of soap to warm water and dip 2/3 of the bristles in the brush and agitate. For hard stubborn brushes such as liquid foundation, squirt a small amount onto the brush and gently massage and run under warm water until it runs clear. Do this with all your brushes.
Step 3
Leave your brushes on a flat surface to dry. I leave mine on a bamboo washer as these absorb moisture and are antibacterial.
Remember your brushes will take a while to dry so it's best to wash them
After you apply your make up!
Happy washing...
